Some great feedback...

Parallel have always been wonderful to work with. Everyone over the years has been so polite, helpful, professional and friendly, and made me feel like one of the team!

You are one of my favourite agencies to work with and I really appreciate your collaboration with me! There are very few agencies with such friendly PMs who appreciate their translators like you guys do, so thank you.

One thing I love about working with Parallel is that it always feels like partnership rather than client-and- supplier relationship. Thank you for being reliable, helpful and understanding partners!

I do appreciate very much that you are prepared to pay extra for things like formatting. Not all translation companies are so fair, and it's what marks Parallel out as one of the best.

It’s always a pleasure to work with the team as they are without exception the most pleasant and polite project managers I work with, yet never at the expense of thoroughness and professionalism.

The people who work at Parallel are the politest Project Managers I work with. You all confirm e-mails immediately; nobody else I work with is so considerate! Thank you!

I certainly appreciate the timely payments your company makes.

It is a real comfort that in these hard economic times (2014), when people are willing to cut corners, a great company with the right values keeps growing. Extremely well done to all of you.

Thank you for being and remaining a stable, forward-looking company and a thoughtful and caring client!

It is great to be able to show my appreciation for a long and always pleasant working relationship with you and your ever-growing band of lovely people. The longer you work in the translation industry, the more you appreciate the true gems who respect and look after their translators.

I really enjoy working with the Parallel team, by far the most friendly, polite and respectful of my partners!

How many years of translation experience do I need to apply?

We seek a minimum of 5 years’ experience in one of our specialist fields. We feel this is a realistic amount of time for a translator to gain the relevant experience to translate in a highly specialist subject. However, if you have slightly less experience, please still consider applying.

Do you have a preference as to whether I use CAT tools/Translation Memory software and, if so, which one?

No, we don’t; we believe this decision is entirely up to the translator.

In which format should the finished translation be delivered?

It depends on the project, but most translations are delivered in Word format. We sometimes also work in Excel and PowerPoint.

Would you consider an application from a translator with experience in a closely related field such as medical devices?

Absolutely! Although our focus is predominantly clinical trials we would welcome applications from translators specialised in different aspects of the medical/pharmaceutical field.

What are your payment terms?

Our standard payment terms are 30 days net (i.e. the end of the month following the invoice date). Please see our ProZ Blue Board for feedback about our prompt payments.

What are your methods of payment?

We can make payment by electronic bank transfer or online via Skrill or PayPal.

Do you check the translation?

Yes, each translation undergoes a 2-stage checking process. However, we expect you as the translator to have proofread your own work thoroughly prior to delivery to us. Please see Our Process for more information.

Do I have to sign a confidentiality agreement?

Yes, every translator who works with us must sign a Confidentiality Disclosure Agreement (CDA) and agree to our Terms & Conditions. This is a requirement before we can send you your first project.

I really want to gain more experience and specialise in medical/pharmaceutical translation but I don’t meet your minimum selection criteria. What can I do?

Please bear us in mind for the future. We appreciate that it can be difficult for new translators to gain experience in their desired field, however, we need to fulfil the minimum selection criteria that our clients expect. You may like to consider exploring options such as the ITI’s Career Affiliate membership which may help you progress in your career as a translator.

Do you employ any in-house translators?

At present we only work with freelance translators.
