The Parallel team took part in the “World’s Biggest Coffee Morning” in September, fundraising for Macmillan. Now a well-known national charity event, Macmillan’s Coffee Morning aims to raise funds for those living with cancer, to support them (and their friends and families) medically, emotionally, practically and financially.
As in 2015, we invited our translators to ‘join’ us for a virtual coffee break by sending in a photo from their morning break. We had an incredible response and received photos from translators all over the world. For every photographic contribution we received, Parallel donated £10 to the charity.
In addition, during our own office break, we enjoyed plenty of coffee and cake, a raffle and the “Cake Off” event. Atelier Studios in Southampton were keen to judge the event with a blind tasting session, which resulted in Sarah’s strawberry sponge being crowned the winner with Karina’s chocolate cake coming a close second.
The team would like to pass on a huge thank you to all of our clients, translators, friends and family for the generous donations; we shot past our fundraising target and raised a grand total of £1,113.75!
