After nearly 25 years of continuous trading, Parallel will be closing its doors at the end of September.

The effect that Covid has had on our business has been the overriding factor in our decision to cease trading. Our core sector has been hit particularly hard by the postponement and cancellation of clinical trials. Therefore, now is the right time for our staff to move on to pastures new, and for our management team to take a well-earned rest.

To our Clients

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all our clients, some of whom have worked with us for over 20 years. Thank you for entrusting your projects to us and for supporting us throughout the translation process.

Regarding the practicalities between now and 30 September 2021, we will be winding down our operations in a gradual, controlled manner. All ongoing work will be completed as agreed and invoiced in the usual manner.

We will be happy to continue to prepare quotations for new projects until the beginning of September, on condition that we are confident we can complete and deliver the work by 30 September 2021. Our Production team will make you aware in good time if this is not the case, so that you can place the project elsewhere, without jeopardising your deadlines.

To our Translators

We have been fortunate to work with a huge number of first class translators, many of whom have been with us since the beginning. Thank you to each and every one of you for your hard work, loyalty and commitment to Parallel, and the unwavering support that you have given our in-house teams, past and present.

We have endeavoured to work in genuine partnership, to respect your experience and knowledge, to support you wherever possible, and, of course, to settle your invoices promptly. Our translators have been an integral part of Parallel, our reputation, and the legacy that it leaves behind.

Invoices for current and ongoing work between now and 30 September 2021 should be submitted in the usual way and will be paid according to our standard terms.

Any outstanding invoices for previously completed work should be sent as soon as possible to our central email address ( by 31 August 2021 at the latest.

Rest assured, we remain in a good financial position and all due amounts will be settled promptly, as always.

To our in-house Teams, past and present

A huge thank-you to everyone who has worked with us in-house over the past 25 years. Our staff have been incredibly committed and supportive during the challenges of the past eighteen months. Over the years, we have grown together, celebrated marriages and births, and formed life-long friendships. It has been extremely rewarding to see past employees transition to successful freelance careers. Our current team are well on their way to finding fulfilling roles elsewhere and I have no doubt that their future employers will consider themselves very fortunate to have them on their team, just as we have.
